Poverty Relief

The Glasgow Central Mosque Poverty Relief project has been continuing its food service programme throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and Cost of Living crisis, to help those most vulnerable within our society. This has operated in an environment which is compliant with all the current regulations during this difficult and challenging period.

Alhamdulillah, we provide over 1,000 food packs every month with this number increasing. We anticipate to increase our efforts further during the holiday period and beyond.

The Poverty Relief project is run by GCM volunteers with distribution taking place every Sunday at Glasgow Central Mosque between 1pm and 3pm.

The service is financed purely through donations, supported by the GCM. We would therefore request you to donate generously to this worthy cause.

Let Your Donations Grow. It is related from Ummul Mo’mineen Aishah رضي الله عنها from the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم; he said, “Indeed Allah does rear a date and a morsel as one of you rears His foal or calf until it (the date or morsel which has been donated) becomes like Mount Uhud.” (Saheeh Ibn Hiban in Targheeb)

Give now by sponsoring weekly food packs at £10 each, through a monthly standing order or one-off donations.
