Education Complex

“Invest in our children | Invest in your Akhirah”

For over three decades, Glasgow Central Mosque has served as the hub for Muslims across the city.

With a burgeoning population, demand has never been greater upon its resources with every effort made to provision for the complex needs of a diverse community.

As the primary centre for Islamic education within the city, Glasgow Central Mosque is responsible for providing Quran, Hifz and Alim classes for both boys and girls as well as essential learning courses. At present, over 400 students attend classes on a daily basis during term time, with an extensive waiting list of those seeking admission.

To meet this growing demand and modernise facilities, GCM propose the development of a dedicated education facility within the existing community hall. The proposal includes a two storey complex with plans for up to 20 classrooms, situated above the revamped function suite. Separate wudu and toilet facilities for students and an assembly area will enable GCM to increase the number of spaces it can offer while also complying with statutory regulation.

The cost of this project is estimated at £1.3M with £600,000 required to commence construction. A build time of 10 months is anticipated.

Donate now to partake in this project and earn a recurring reward (Sadaqah Jariyah) for you, your family or loved ones who have passed away.

The Messenger of Allah () said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)” [Muslim]
