We are looking for a dedicated, organised and experienced Head Teacher to oversee the day-to-day running of our Madrassah. The successful candidate will lead teaching staff, maintain high standards of Islamic education, monitor student progress and behaviour, ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, and maintain effective communication with parents and the Management Committee.

Location: Glasgow Central Mosque

Hours: Monday – Friday, 4:45pm – 8:00pm

Salary: Competitive

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage, support and monitor teaching staff, including attendance, punctuality and staff cover.

• Assist with recruitment and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.

• Monitor teaching quality and ensure the Madrassah curriculum is delivered consistently.

• Oversee student attendance, progress, behaviour, welfare and assessment.

• Ensure safeguarding, child protection and PVG requirements are followed.

• Organise staff meetings, parents’ evenings, timetables and Madrassah activities.

• Maintain effective and professional communication with parents and guardians.

• Oversee student fee records and general Madrassah administration.

• Promote and maintain the Islamic values, conduct and ethos of the Madrassah.

• Provide regular updates and termly reports to the Management Committee.

• Has strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

• Has experience in Islamic education and working with children.

• Can manage and support staff professionally and fairly.

• Understands safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.

• Is committed to maintaining high standards of Islamic education and conduct.

Glasgow Central Mosque is looking for passionate individuals to join our Education Team and teach classes of boys.

Syllabus: Quran, Duas, Hadeeth memorisation, Islamic studies.

Hours: Mon to Fri – 5pm to 7pm ONSITE ONLY – NOT ONLINE

Remuneration: Paid

Section: Males

Main duties: Prepare and deliver engaging lessons to a high standard. Maintain class discipline. Present yourself as an Islamic role model.

Previous teaching experience would be advantageous but not strictly required as training can be provided. A good level of English is also required.
